]]> When I was a kid in the 1980’s, I read a book that told the story of a little girl and boy. The boy had received a supposedly magic coin for a gift, but the family friend, a supposed former witch, said that it was not magical. Still, the boy became attached to the coin, taking him over like the one ring from Lord of the Rings. The girl cares for him and tries to get him to take it off. I can’t really remember anything else about it but I would like to find this book again. There is no reason to think that this was a popular book, that makes this quite difficult. It’s set in modern(ish) America.
