Magic: The Gathering – What do I need to start?

I am starting to get into Magic and had some questions before I head to my local game place to actually try to play.

I have a deck all set to go, but I was wondering are there items other than cards that are necessary to play? I know there are Spin Down Dice for health tracking, but what do people usually use for +1/+1 or -1/-1 counter tokens or similar things?

I have some Pokemon cards and they came with a coin and some health/effect tokens. Are there similar things for Magic?

Where did the word Maya originate for the South American culture and civilization?

The word Maya in Sanskrit means magic or wonder or alternatively God’s creation. However, the word Maya in the English language refers to the Maya civilization of South America. Is there a connection between the two words? Where did the word Maya to describe the South American civilization originally come from? Did a scientist or archeologist coin the term? When, who and why?

I am a 14 year old magician. What do I need to become an escape artist?

I am a 14 year old magician who performs for hundreds and sometimes thousands of people at a single time in Australia. I was thinking about delving into the art of escapology. What do I need to get into the art and amaze? I already do rope, card, coin and many more areas of magic and have routines etc. but I would like to extent this into something more worthwhile and dangerous. I was thinking of chain escapes. What do you prefer? What could help me? Thanks.

So im chinese and my grandma have this crazy chinese way to make bruises go away by boiling some eggs but only keeping the yolk then place it in a handkerchief with a coin then wrap it up and rub it against the bruises. the crazy thing is, it actually helps and the bruises disappear like magic just after like 10min of rubbing but whenever i ask her why she cant explain it to me. so do anybody know how to explain this in a scientific way? or anything similar? really appreciate it!!!

Is this a good way to make money in OBLIVION?

I go kill guards, take there legion armour and silver sword and whatever else thats worth it. Let guard arrest me, go to merchant and sell the stuff for money then I keep repeating this? I did it so far and got about 400 coins and got a sword sowrth 238 coins with magic in it or something like that.

Oh yea i got a debaser is that good or should i sell?

Help with magic tricks?

I am wanting to be able to do some magic like David Blaine and Chris Angel. Like card tricks and coin tricks like David Blaine. I saw this one video of Chris Angel where he took a rolled up piece of paper and lit it on fire and flicked it and it turned into a cigerrette, also where he did a larger piece and blew the fire out and it was a rose. If you know how to do any thing like this or know of any web sites where I could find some good info or possibly tutorials please let me know.

If you talk to a liberal, you would think the evil underground dictator Limbaugh created as a facet of racism. But here, a columnist for the very liberal LA Times, actually coined the phrase????

Magic tricks?

Magic seems to be making a resurgence with the likes of David Blaine and others. Their magic is a closely guarded secret but some of the stunts are really interesting and hard to figure out how they are done. For example when David Blaine levitates in front of people on a boardwalk or when he throws the deck of cards against a window and the persons card sticks to the window but on the inside. Really cool stuff. Is there any place to find out how these tricks are done or theories on how they are done?
