I recently bought a Bicycle Guardians Deck and my Great Dane puppy ate like half of them =( I didn’t really get a chance to use them. I was wondering what the best deck I should get for doing magic tricks and XCM.

If you are learning, start with the XTC deck. You might also want to check out the Xtreme Beginnerz DVD by De’Vo.

This is great for training yourself to do the work.

Once you have the magic in you, then any reasonably good deck will work for you. Most of the card guys are working with standard Bicycle decks. You also might want to check out Jeff McBride’s Manipulation without Tears DVD.

If you’re interested in just card manipulations, check out the manipulation decks that are available. If you’re interested in mixing manipulations with card tricks, stick with a standard looking deck like the Rider Backs or Tally Ho.

I always recommend in buying packs of cards in lots of 3 or more just because of your puppy story. For cost and general use, I suggest the regular Bicycle Decks. Do your practice and playing with them, do your shows with the premium stuff like Guardians, Black Tigers, and my favorites the Karnival Decks. See http://www.bigblindmedia.com

Good luck
