What are the best kind of cards to use for magic tricks?
I’ve been starting to do some simple card tricks and I’ve been using a plain playing deck. But the cards stick together to much so It’s hard to do a lot with them.
Should I try to find a place that sells cards used for magic tricks or just a new playing deck since mine is old?
I do not want trick cards, I want just plain cards that are easy to move and slide easily so I can do tricks better. Any suggestions on what I should get?

try some bicycle decks
While Bicycle cards are certainly the standard for magic tricks there are big differences. If you get normal Bicycle cards from a store you will probably go through them really quickly (meaning they won’t last long). Once they start sticking together you are done with them; they are useless. There is fanning powder to help with that but that won’t make you happy, trust me.
I recommend you get a better quality card stock Bicycle card deck. Here are a few to choose from. They are all normal decks just vary in design. They all are made with higher card stock and cost a little bit more than the ones as Walmart but they will last a lot longer.

Since you’re just starting off, I would suggest you get a couple of new Bicycle decks. Most drug stores, grocery stores, and even Walmart and Target carry them. Prices will run about 2 to 3 dollars a deck so the price isn’t too bad either. The decks you get at the dollar store will wear down and stick quicker so the Bicycles are really the best for the money. Good luck
Bicycle cards are probably the best for the price. They are easy to find, and relatively cheap.
As with any other card, they will eventually wear out. However, for casual use, a deck of cards will go close to half a year. You will see some wear and tear on them, but if it is just a hobby, then that it alright. Even after they start wearing out though, they won’t really stick too bad. It will become nearly impossible to fan the cards (unless you learn a pressure fan), but I find that isn’t much of a problem.
If you are still just learning, Bicycle cards are great as well because you will be able to find them anywhere. So unlike cards that you have to order online, you won’t have to wait to get back to doing magic.
