Lol in response to the previous answers. The effect is called "Coins Across" and there are several variations. Jay Sankey has a few, but I prefer Gregory Wilson’s 3/4 across. A very nice routine once you get the basics down. That youtube video was priceless btw.

You take a coin and land it on the pad of your right thumb. (base)
When you flip your hands over (fast) to a closed position to ask – "Which hand has the coin" – you actually throw the coin through the air to the other hand and catch it. It’s now in your left hand.
People almost never see it fly.
Like all "magic" it takes practice.
